Weekly Prayer Guide January 2017 for the week of January 2nd to 8th (W)

I. Opening Prayer

We could hardly comprehend that you are mindful of us when we are not at all worthy because of our manifold sins.  We cannot understand how you can love us, even send your most Beloved Son for our sake.  There was rejoicing among the heavenly host when he came to us as an infant, but there was grieving in creation when he was tortured, nailed to the cross, and murdered.  All this for our sake.

Accept this our heartfelt plea for your forgiveness, and enable us to reach, touch, even just the tip of your throne of grace for our assurance.  In your most Blessed Son with the continued assistance of the Holy Spirit, we pray.  Amen.
